NIBIRU announces a new confirmation for the ROCK DAYS lineup: Alexandra Căpitănescu, one of the strongest emerging presences in Romanian music, is joining the festival taking place on August 7 and 8, 2026, at NIBIRU Arena in Costinești. The artist represented Romania at Eurovision 2026 with the song “Choke Me” and placed 3rd, marking one of the country’s best recent performances in the competition.
Alexandra Căpitănescu’s presence strengthens ROCK DAYS’ direction of bringing together established names and relevant voices of the new generation in a lineup that reflects both the history and the evolution of the local rock music scene. Also known to the public for winning season 11 of “Vocea României” (“The Voice of Romania”), Alexandra brings fresh energy to the festival and a stage presence that brings rock closer to younger generations.
ROCK DAYS brings together on the same stage artists who have defined the history of the genre, alongside names relevant to the new alternative wave and the contemporary directions of the local scene. The festival is built around the live energy that rock music delivers, a recognizable repertoire, and that direct connection between artists and the audience.
With a lineup spanning several eras of Romanian rock music, the festival brings together both legendary names and artists shaping the new alternative wave.
Among the confirmed artists are Phoenix, Iris, Vama, Vița de Vie, Zdob și Zdub, and Bosquito, alongside acts and projects relevant to the current scene, such as The Mono Jacks, Robin and The Backstabbers, byron, Jurjak, HVNDS, and Lupii lui Calancea. The lineup is further rounded out by artists crossing into alternative and urban areas, such as Subcarpați, Killa Fonic, Irina Rimes, and The Motans, in a mix that reflects the evolution and diversity of Romanian rock.
Rock culture in Romania
Romanian rock has never been just a music genre, but a cultural phenomenon that has influenced entire generations. Beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, bands such as Phoenix and Iris became symbols of freedom of expression in a restrictive social context, turning music into a form of resistance and identity.
Over time, rock shaped not only the music scene, but also the way artists from other genres build their musical identity. Its influences can still be found today in pop, hip-hop, and electronic music, whether through attitude, sound, or message. Contemporary projects such as Subcarpați and artists from the urban scene integrate elements of energy, authenticity, and storytelling specific to rock culture.
In this context, ROCK DAYS is not just a festival, but a celebration of a movement that has united generations and continues to inspire, challenge, and evolve.
Built for a wide audience
ROCK DAYS marks a different direction within NIBIRU, being designed as an accessible rock festival, both in terms of positioning and price. Tickets start at 49 lei per day, a level intended to open the live experience to as wide an audience as possible.
“We wanted ROCK DAYS to be a festival you can come to regardless of age or how often you go to concerts. It’s about music you know, about energy, and about that feeling when thousands of people sing together, from the first song to the last,” said Selly, the creator of NIBIRU.
NIBIRU for all tastes
The launch of ROCK DAYS completes NIBIRU’s positioning as a project that covers multiple musical areas and audience types, from festivals dedicated to electronic, urban, or pop music featuring internationally established names, to concepts that bring the local scene into the spotlight.
In this context, ROCK DAYS becomes a meeting point between generations, while also reaffirming the musical diversity that will be found at NIBIRU.
Live-energy experience
Held over the course of two days, the festival places the emphasis on the authentic concert experience, well-known songs, and the interaction between artists and the audience.
ROCK DAYS is part of the broader NIBIRU calendar, which transforms the Romanian seaside into an entertainment hub throughout the summer of 2026, bringing together music, culture, and experiences for diverse audiences.
